Abstract

The article presents a brief report on the prevalence of Borrelia burgdorferi s.l. and Anaplasma phagocytophilum transmitted by the wood tick Ixodes ricinus found in the province of Trento, Italy. The study found that risks of infection with the agents of lyme borreliosis and human granulocytic anaplasmosis is dependent on the local tick distribution and abundance. It is also noted that the etiological agents of these diseases causes a wide range of clinical symptoms.
