Abstract

In this article the author discusses zombies in popular culture, particularly in the United States, and examines the reasons for the enthusiasm for zombie books and films. Film director George Romero is the best known movie maker specializing in zombie films and Max Brooks has written a number of books about zombies. The author wishes that Haiti, the place of origin of the zombie myth, could derive some benefit from the popularity of zombies.
