Abstract

The article presents information on the Section 8 housing rules of the Iowa's Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The Section 8 program, which is called by a number of different names in different states, including the Housing Choice Voucher Program, allows tenants to pay about one-third of their income on rent, with the federal government paying the rest. Due to substantial abuse of the Section 8, HUD officials have tightened regulations on eligibility requirements for affordable housing.
