Impact of a Winter Respiratory Virus Season on Patients With COPD and Association With Influenza Vaccination.

The article presents a study on the effects of an influenza season on patients with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease COPD. The study was analyzed through spirometry to assess functional status and well-being and tested for influenza virus infection. The study reveals that the acute respiratory illness was associated with increased health care utilization and obstruction to airflow that form into a worse functional status and well-being of the patients.
