Abstract

The article presents perspectives from the medical treatment facility U.S. Navy Ship (USNS) Mercy. It offers details on the previous deployments of USNS Mercy and its staff. It describes the preparations made before the ship sailed for Indonesia in the aftermath of the Asian tsunami in December 2004. It discusses the medical services provided by medical personnel aboard the ship.
