Abstract: The article presents an encyclopedia entry for the "Michaelis-Menten Kinetics" theory. L. Michaelis and M. L. Menten observed in 1913 that the kinetics of enzyme reactions differed significantly from the kinetics of conventional chemical reactions. They formed the equation for the binding of a chemical to a surface. Their models formed the basis of drug receptor interaction.
