Abstract

The two-scalar potential formulation has been shown to be very accurate for modeling magnetic problems with high permeability materials. This paper extends the formulation to incorporate multiple and anisotropic magnets. Application of the model to the shielding of orthogonal electromagnets shows that an anisotropic shield can reduce the interference between electromagnets without adversely affecting the amount of useful flux.
