Abstract
- The article discusses the changes occurring in Great Britain newspapers. Simon Kelner, editor of the "Independent," is giving reporters leeway to put more of their views and opinions in their stories. Kelner rejects the idea that the news is suppose to be unbiased. He has found that this strategy sells more newspapers in a competitive market. Alan Rusbridger of the "Guardian" has expanded to selling the news on the Internet, mobile phones and any other technological device that gets his news out. By doing this the "Guardian" is becoming an international newspaper. The author suggests that American newspapers consider following these British strategies.
