Abstract
- The article offers a look at Google Inc.'s controversial book-digitalization project. The Complutense University of Madrid, Spain, has announced that it will join Google's project as the company's first partner in the effort from a non-English-speaking country. Hundreds of thousands of works, including books by Miguel de Cervantes and Pedro Calderón de la Barca, will be converted into fully searchable electronic texts. Other institutions that have agreed to a partnership include Harvard University, Stanford University, the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor, and the University of Oxford.
