Abstract

The article presents the findings of a U.S. Labor Department report which showed a slow down in job growth for September 2006. According to analysts, this signifies that the momentum behind more positive labor statistics leading up to the report has shifted. It is asserted that though economists are not concerned about the report in the context of long term trends, the impact of immediate conditions might very well be felt by workers.
