The article presents the author's views on the research paper "The Language of Classic Maya Inscriptions," by Stephen Houston and colleagues, which has been published within the issue. The author comments on current anthropological topics in which he disregards some epigraphic and linguistic issues. The author feels persuaded to the article's statement over the relationship between Mayan languages. The overview of the development of Mayan languages does not fit international standards.
