Abstract

The article discusses the U.S. Army's resources strain with regard to manpower. Due to wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, the Army has been spread thin and may be forced to alter the standard terms of service for the National Guard. The administration of U.S. president George W. Bush has previously said deployment of troops overseas would be reduced.
