Public Pervasive Computing: Making the Invisible Visible.

The article presents the computing system, Just-for-Us, a prototype mobile Web service using a series HP iPAQh5550s developed by researchers in the human-computer interaction community as well as sociologists, city architects, planners and designers. It is part of the e-Spective investigating the association of pervasive computing and mobile communication technologies and social behavior. This computer system design for public use was based on the architectural and sociological field studies of Federation Square in Melbourne, Australia.
