Abstract: The article narrates the experiences of several people recovering from the Hurricanes Katrina and Rita that struck New Orleans, Louisiana after a year. Emeritus professor of chemistry Jack H. Stocker decided not to rebuild and moved to an apartment. Cheryl K. Stevens of Xavier University said that their house is almost completely renovated but daily life has become tedious. Chemistry professor Larry D. Byers revealed that his enzymology lab has become fully operational.
