Abstract
- The article describes the use of red/green/blue/white (RGBW) pixel architecture called PenTile and subpixel rendering to display scenes with more natural luminance and chrominance than traditional RGB strip techniques, by engineers at Clairvoyante in Cupertino, California. Subpixel rendering algorithms have been developed to match pixel patterning to the receptive characteristics of the human eye.
