Abstract

The article introduces the first electrostatic-discharge protection chip IP4776CZ38 developed by Royal Philips Electronics NV. It is designed to support the recently released version 1.3 of the High Definition Multimedia Interface (DMI) specification. The product delivers up to 8 kilovolts of ESD (electrostatic discharge) protection in contact mode for four HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) transmission channels.
