Abstract
- The article reports that IBM has acquired business process and enterprise content management specialist FileNet Corp. for $1.6 billion. The technology of FileNet will be integrated into the existing service-oriented architecture systems for BPM and information lifecycle management. Upon the completion of the deal, IBM plans to integrate FileNet's activities into its own enterprise content management business which is part of its Information Management Unit. Also, IBM plans to integrate its BPM technologies with FileNet's software.
