MOF Formulates Targets and Policies for Biomass Energy.

The article reports on the Chinese Ministry of Finance's formulation of medium and long-term development targets for oil substitution by biomass energy. Included in the targets are increasing the capacity of biological liquid fuels under the Eleventh Five-Year Program period from 2006 to 2010. It is expected that 20 percent of oil consumption can be replaced by substitute energies and oil dependence will be reduced by 50 percent before 2020.
