The article features illustrator Newell Convers Wyeth. He was a graduate of the Massachusetts Normal Art School and the Eric Pape School of Art in Boston. Wyeth was accepted to the small class organized by the famous illustrator Howard Pyle and became a full fledged member of the Howard Pyle School of Art. He was first commissioned by a magazine called "Success."
