Abstract
- The article discusses the budgeting process as a communication model for reducing information asymmetries and uncertainties between organization and its business partners. Interorganizational information sharing can be based upon the budgeting process, which identifies the information that needs to flow from one unit to another within the organization. This process can help determine how to: distribute profits, losses and cost savings; allocate overhead and support services costs; acquire, distribute, and use business intelligence; and set and achieve target-costing goals.
