Abstract
- The article reports on the development of a Gigabit Ethernet multilayer switch by Leesburg, Virginia-based Curtiss-Wright Controls Embedded Computing, targeting the Global Information Grid of the U.S. military network. The switch supports the military Internet Protocol platforms by emphasizing high levels of security. The company noted that it can deliver 24 Gigabit Ethernet ports through a single VME slot which can be configured at 10-Megabit, 100 Megabit or at full Gigabit speed in nonblocking process.
