Abstract
- The article focuses on the research findings that ocular rigidity may affect corneal biomechanics after a refractive surgery. According to professor and chairman of the department of ophthalmology Ioannis G. Pallikaris, MD at the University Hospital in Heraklion, total eye rigidity is one of the major factors that affect the biomechanics of the cornea. He added, with the LASIK the thickness of the cornea decreased and the radius of the cornea in myopic eyes increases.
