Abstract: The article summarizes the progress toward the eradication of polio in India from January 2005 through June 2006. Surveillance of acute flaccid paralysis remains at high levels of performance. A number of cases of wildpolio virus occurred during the period. Several strategies have been implemented to improve immunization activities in India.
