Abstract
- This article describes the investigation into the explosion that destroyed the home of Dr. Nicholas Bartha at 34 East 62nd Street in New York City. Investigators found a plastic hose that had been illegally attached to the home's gas line. Bartha, who was in the home at the time of the explosion, remained hospitalized as investigators attempted to determine if he was involved in causing the explosion. Bartha was involved in a bitter property settlement dispute concerning the house with his recently divorced wife.
