Abstract
- The article explores the power duality of David Herbert Lawrence's writing "Nottingham and the Mining Countryside," that is between the natural world and the mechanical world. The writing is centered on the themes and concerns of post-industrialism. Lawrence also exposes the intimate connections between mining and agriculture. He is also concerned with the aesthetics of environment, the connections of community, and the nature of labor.
