Abstract
- In this article the author describes her meeting with members of the Taliban in Afghanistan. She finds that the people she encounters do not appear to be like stereotypical Taliban, but well educated and well travelled. She recognizes that the intense nationalism of the Taliban will not be subdued by the Nato, United Nations or American forces, but must be dealt with politically. Not all the Taliban are ideologically committed, the author finds, as some receive money to fight.
