Abstract

The article presents a market outlook for digital cameras in the U.S. in 2006. According to the NPD Group, camera sales will reach 29.5 million units in 2006. IDC predict the market to reach 31 million units. NPD imaging analyst Liz Cutting noted that compact models and digital single-lens reflex (SLR) will continue to dominate the market. However, Dimitrious Delis, analyst for the Photo Marketing Association noted that digital cameras will sell stronger than their film counterparts.
