Abstract

This article describes the challenges facing Andrew Burke, the new vice president of marketing for Diamond Foods Co. As Diamond Foods' new vice president for marketing, Burke will cull from a diversified background to shepherd the company's nut brands at a time of consumer clamor for healthier snacks. Based in Stockton, California, Burke will helm marketing initiatives for the Diamond, Emerald and recently acquired Harmony brands at a time when food purveyors are facing intensifying pressure from advocacy groups and federal regulators to roll out healthier snacks.
