Abstract
- The article discusses whether there will be enough new safety professionals to replace retirees in the U.S. It was projected that there will be an increase of 4,000 occupational health and safety engineering jobs by 2014. The issue then is on who will be in line to take these jobs. According to James Leemann, president of the Leemann Group, traditional students cannot be depended on since they are out to earn big income and will steer clear from the technical and interactive nature of the profession.
