Abstract: The article profiles Gina Rinehart, heiress of late mining magnate Lang Hancock. Rinehart became the first female billionaire in Australia when his father left her with personal and corporate fortunes. In 1990s she was close to going bankrupted, but now she regained the wealth due to increase in value of her father's iron ore deposits and has paid her father's debts. Four factors that helped Rhinehart survive and raise her to top of the country's elite are also included.
