Bases de sustentabilidad para proyectos de desarrollo rural de pequeños y medianos productores agropecuaries (Chile Central y La Pampa, Argentina).

In the year 1998, teacher-researchers from the University of La Pampa-based Institute of Geography (School of Human Sciences) got academically related to members of the University of Chile's Geography Department. A first joint project "Rural Development Alternatives for Small and Medium Agricultural Producers" took shape with the approval and financial support of the Pan-American Institute of Geography and History. That project is continued in the present one, about which this a forward report. The problems posed by small and medium agricultural producers are considered from the theoretical paradigm of social geography. A variety of perspectives are adopted for its realisation: theoretical, of genre, ecological, geopolitical[, of planning, alternative activities, work, production, trade and the like. A confrontation of results is expected, so as to round off the project with shared conclusions and assessment of achievement of intended objectives. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
