Abstract

This article discusses the role of knowledge management in the development of new products in an organization. A research and engineering firm Science Applications International Corp., has helped many organizations incorporate the use of knowledge management in how they do business. KM is the capacity to capture, learn and reuse the knowledge that is created in the course of conducting an organization's business. The factors that typically drive the new product development process are based on new markets, modifications of current products, or organizational change.
