Abstract
- The author reports on new scientific evidence regarding the ancient climate of the North Pole. According to the author, a new analysis of the climatic and biological record from the seabed near the North Pole shows that 55 million years ago the Arctic Ocean was much warmer than scientists ever imagined. The ocean apparently had a year-round average temperature of 74 degrees Fahrenheit. The study will be published in the forthcoming edition of the journal "Nature."
