Abstract: The article reports that the planned acquisition of Aviall Inc. will extend Boeing Co.'s service business base by bringing a leading parts distributor and forecaster into the fold at Boeing Commercial Airplanes. Boeing plans to acquire the Dallas-based company in an all-cash deal of $48 per share or $1.7 billion total. In its recognition of the importance of a strong distribution network, Boeing was an early supporter of the FAA's AC 00-56A distributor accreditation program.
