Abstract: This article reports on Duke University's women's lacrosse team. Northwestern defeated the top-ranked Duke team by a final score of 11-10 on their way to winning the NCAA championship game against Dartmouth. Most of the media attention given to the women's team was related to the sweatbands that they wore which were meant to show solidarity with the Duke men's lacrosse team. In March 2006, a woman hired as a stripper for a men's team party accused several players of raping her.
