Abstract

The article presents the results of the investigation conducted by the supervisory staff of the Des Moines Department of Pupil Adjustment on the effect of special education on the intelligence of slow learner in Iowa. Results show that the intelligence quotient of 72 percent of students fell within a relatively static classification. Also, there seemed to be no significant difference between the average intelligence quotient variations of children or originally classified as subnormals.
