Abstract

This article presents an interview with Labor Party member of parliament Stephen Byers, a confidant of Prime Minister Tony Blair. Byers argues that Blair needs to stay in office to prevent a Conservative Party victory in an election. He also states that Blair will hand over power to Chancellor of the Exchequer Gordon Brown, but that no date has been set.
