Abstract
- The article reports that the migrant workers in Great Britain are facing language crisis. The arrival of 280,000 migrant workers from the accession states have added to the families of refugees and settled migrants. This arrival has resulted in the increased demand for over-stretched English for Speakers of Other Languages courses. In addition, refugees are also having problems in proving that they are qualified. Labor markets are open in theory only, in practice, this is rarely so. But things are starting to happen as effective education and training strategies to help migrants and refugees into work have started emerging.
