Abstract
- This article examines the effectiveness of screening programs designed to detect depression in patients. It overviews the employment of depression screening as a national health policy in the U.S. and in Australia. However, it discusses difficulty in gauging the effectiveness of these screenings. The ratio of cost factors to benefits continues to remain too high. The article does suggest that measures need to be taken to address the inadequate depression management in Great Britain.
