The article reports on the function of antioxidants in regulating deoxyribonucleic acid damage, lipid peroidation, and in preventing cancers in the U.S. The Institute of Medicine prescribes the dietary need of vitamin E, vitamin C, and selenium as antioxidant supplements. Further studies presented that the said vitamins prevent some chronic diseases.
