Abstract
- The article focuses on the recovery of the artistic life in New Orleans, Louisiana following the devastation of Hurricane Katrina. Plein air landscape painter Phil Sandusky returned to the city to repair his home and capture the devastation through plein air painting. He drew several wasteland landscapes resulting from the disaster. The Orleans Museum of Art reopened on March 3, 2006 with a celebration that honored the city's visual, literary and performing arts.
