The article reports that Singapore Technologies Aerospace Ltd. (ST Aerospace) will establish an airframe and heavy maintenance, repair and overhaul facility in Panama, marking its first advance into Latin America. Latin America is drawing increasing attention for its potential for low-cost airframe overhauls, especially for narrow-body aircraft. Agencia del Area Economica Especial Panama-Pacifico, commissioned by the government to attract foreign investment, sought out ST Aerospace to take over four existing hangars at the former Howard AFB west of the Panama Canal.
