Abstract

The article focuses on the achievements of several prominent Canadian writers. One of them is Carol Shields, who was best known for her works of fiction, such as the novel "The Stone Diaries." Another is Douglas Glover, who won the 2003 Governor General's Award for his historical saga "Elle." Miriam Toews won the 2004 Governor General's Award for her novel, "A Complicated Kindness."
