Presents findings of a study on the role of taurine in liver physiology and in cell protection against various types of injury. Level of taurine in Kupffer and sinosoidal endothelial cells; Role of oval cell proliferation and neoplastic lesions in developing hepatitis and liver fibrosis in transgenic mice; Description of hepatocyte apoptosis and activation of the CD95 system; Cause of the mitochondrial dysfunction in transgenic mice.
