Abstract: The article presents comments on a study on the effectiveness of glargine insulin dose titration by patients and physicians for preventing severe hypoglycemia. The initiation of insulin glargine led to an improvement in glycemic control. The trial however did not include a comparison group treated with neutral protamine hagedorn insulin.
