Abstract

The article focuses on the significance of mathematics in computer science. In the field of computer science, logic and programming go hand in hand. Computational science can be regarded as a combination of mathematics, computing, and various application fields. Isolation of mathematics from computing has alarmed the U.S. at present. Knowledge on mathematics is needed especially in using software tools, which need one's background on mathematics. Actions have been taken to refocus students on mathematics. First, mathematics enhances reasoning skills. Second, it could aid in producing mathematically oriented professionals.
