Abstract: The article reports on the discovery of a Paleogene microsite in the Mbeya Region of southwestern Tanzania. The discovery provided a geographic extension of the taxon. The discovery was believed to be critical for understanding the evolutionary history of rodents and other vertebrate taxa. The characteristics of the microsite are described.
