Natural Product Diversification Using a Non-natural Cofactor Analogue of S-Adenosyl-L-methionine.

The article discusses the diversification of natural products using a non-natural cofactor analogue of S-adenosyl-L-methionine in the U.S. One of the challenges in diversifying natural products is the need to remain competitive with synthetic and combinatorial libraries. The combination of natural product methyltransferases and synthetic cofactor 7 allows a new means by which to increase the diversity of natural product analogues for drug discovery efforts.
