Abstract: Studies the impaired downregulation of alpha-adrenergic responsiveness, despite a comparable level of sympathetic nervous system (SNS) activity, which contributed to high blood pressure in older hypertensive humans. Measurement of the arterial plasma norepinephrine (NE) levels and extravascular NE release rate; Implication of greater SNS activity.
