Abstract

The article presents guidelines related to finding, choosing, and casting to spawners. One can randomly cast to shoreline areas and pick a bedded bass but if one follows a methodical approach, one can always increase the productivity. First, know that spawning bass are not all alike. One will jump all over your lure, and another that's nearby will flat ignore it. To become a more productive fisherman, determine which fish are worth casting to and which you should just pass by. If a bass bolts off its bed as one's boat zips past, it will be tough to catch when it returns. If it moves slowly off its bed and immediately returns, it can be coaxed into biting.
